"SIMPLIFYING THE LANDSCAPE USING PHOTOGRAPHS" - This is a one-day workshop that will teach students how to take a good reference photo and then simplify it into an abstract design from which to paint. There will be hand outs, instruction, a demo, and then the students will practice everything taught from start to finish, creating a finished painting to take home. A brief supply list will be provided and students will furnish their own paint, brushes, and painting supports. Contact me for more information.
"PERSONALIZING YOUR PALETTE: SIMPLIFYING YOUR PALETTE USING YOUR FAVORITE COLORS" - Don't you just feel like a kid in a candy store when you shop for a new paint color? Ever wanted to try oils but not sure of what you will get when you mix them? Tired of muddy, lack-luster paintings? This is a 3-day oil workshop that will teach students how to eliminate unnecessary tubes of paint and while creating beautiful, new palettes using your favorite colors. We will NOT make color charts but we will be exploring new combinations of your favorite colors. So bring your favorites or whatever you are currently using to this class (or pick some from my personal list) and we will explore what is necessary for your beautiful paintings and what is not, personalizing your palette. We will also create some gorgeous grays to add vibrancy to our paintings. You will go home with a 3-ring binder full of ideas, some that you created yourself, as well as three paintings, one completed each day. Contact me for more information.
